Submit!
Submit to Choler and be hailed as the
next great artist of the millennium!Or something equally overinflated! Choler is currently
accepting submissions for our Featured Artist series.
If you are a fine visual artist (or even a visual fine artist), we'd love to work with
you. What are we looking for, specifically? Read on...
What Makes an Artist a Choler Artist?
First, your art must be forward thinking
-- it must possess the Futurist edge. No classicism. No neo-impressionism. No museum pieces. Your art should make it seem just and prudent to burn down museums. You must also
follow our submission guidelines, which we'll send
to you upon request.
What is the Futurist Aesthetic?
It is a non-retrospective, aggressive outlook and
application of art based on the philosophy of Italian
artist Filippo Marinetti. Now, even a still life can
have this edge, but a painting of the Mona Lisa done
like Di Vinci painted it, i.e., in the classical style,
does not have it. Picasso had it. That flacid shopping mall hack Thomas Kinkade does not. If you want more on the ideas of
this edge read
the Choler Manifesto! (A note on Di Vinci: he
had that futurist edge when he was experimenting with
visual space, new media and types of paint application!)
